The history of Kajima in Southeast Asia dates back to 1954 when it commenced its first overseas project in Myanmar – the Baluchaung hydroelectric power plant. Since then Kajima has completed a wide range of structures such as factories and buildings, including some flagship office towers in Indonesia as Southeast Asia continues its modernization.

 

In 1988, Kajima Overseas Asia Pte Ltd (KOA) was established in Singapore as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kajima to lead the charge in developing business in Southeast Asia. KOA celebrated its 30th anniversary of establishment in 2018 and has been part of the Southeast Asian success story, building trust and track records that have made it one of the most highly regarded general contractors not only in Singapore but in all of Asia.

SPH owns approximately 65% in SPH REIT whose portfolio comprises three properties in Singapore, namely Paragon, The Clementi Mall and The Rail Mall. In Australia, SPH REIT holds an 85% stake in Figtree Grove Shopping Centre and a 50% stake in Westfield Marion Shopping Centre.

 

SPH also owns and operates The Seletar Mall and is developing an integrated development consisting of The Woodleigh Residences and The Woodleigh Mall. It is also an owner, manager and developer of a portfolio of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in the United Kingdom and Germany. It currently operates two distinctive brands, Student Castle and Capitol Students.
